Mechanical Designer/Engineer

Your responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Director of Product Development Engineering, your primary objectives will include; development of detailed 2-D and 3-D mechanical drawings, skid equipment layouts, pipe routing, instrument and controls layout, equipment fabrication drawings in addition to performing the necessary engineering analysis and calculations to support equipment sizing and specifications necessary to produce cost effective process equipment designs.
Specific duties will include; participation in team activities related to the development of alternate system design approaches and improvements that help reduce capital as well as operational costs, generation of P&IDs, plus equipment sizing and development of equipment specifications. Additionally, your duties will include; interfacing with third party design engineering firms, interfacing with the equipment fabrication shop, and supporting the Operations team by assisting with field commissioning activities and leading trouble-shooting efforts for new and ongoing operating units.
Other ways in which you will contribute to our success include providing technical support to our customers by virtue of working in close collaboration with the Project Engineering, Sales, and Operations teams, to help design, install, commission, and operate new plants.
Your qualifications:
To qualify for this opportunity, you will need to be an energetic team player with a record of successful project implementation that includes familiarity with various utility systems plus:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 10 years’ experience performing mechanical design work.
- Demonstrated skills in recent versions of AutoCAD and Auto Desk Inventor plus a working knowledge of hydraulic modeling software such as Fathom or Pipe Flow. Familiarity with MathCAD is a plus.
- Experience developing engineering performance specifications and specifying equipment is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated skills with skidded equipment design and fabrication.
- Experience performing technical services for an operating company is a plus.
- Proven success in developing and executing design projects, including objectives, scope, schedule and deliverables.
- Tenacious, results oriented approach to work, with high quality work standards and ethics.
- Impeccable personal and professional ethics.
- Experience in utility systems associated with; petrochemicals, petroleum, waste and/or the plastics recycling market are preferred.
- Personal qualities such as business acumen, commitment to teamwork, results orientation, superior communication and interpersonal skills, and effective leadership skills.
- Professional history must reflect stability and progressive success.
