Process Engineer

Your responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Director of Product Development Engineering, your primary objectives will include; generating process models, design of processing equipment plus supporting the implementation and commissioning of cost-effective process and equipment revisions that operate safely, reliably, efficiently and are in complete compliance with good engineering practices, codes, and environmental, health and safety regulations.
Specific duties will include; participation in team activities related to the development of process and equipment improvements that help increase system capacity and reduce capital as well as operational costs, generation of P&IDs, plus equipment sizing and development of equipment specifications. Additionally, your duties will include support of the Operations team by assisting with or leading trouble-shooting efforts for new and ongoing operating units.
Other ways in which you will contribute to our success include providing technical support to our customers by virtue of working in close collaboration with the Project Engineering, Sales, and Operations teams, to help design, install, commission, and operate new plants.
Your Qualifications:
To qualify for this opportunity, you will need to be an energetic team player with a record of successful project implementation that includes familiarity with process controls plus:
- BS in Chemical Engineering with at least 10 years of experience.
- Demonstrated skills and experience simulating process equipment. Must be familiar with MathCAD and a multi-physics simulation platform like Autodesk Algor Simulation or Comsol.
- Proven success in developing and executing process improvement projects, including responsibility for objectives, scope, budget, schedule and deliverables.
- Demonstrated skills and experience developing and revising P&IDs. Must be familiar with AutoCAD software. Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor is a plus.
- Experience performing technical services for an operating company is a plus.
- Tenacious, results oriented approach to work, with high quality work standards and ethics.
- Impeccable personal and professional ethics.
- Experience in petrochemicals, petroleum, with waste and/or plastics recycling market knowledge is preferred.
- Personal qualities such as business acumen, commitment to teamwork, results oriented, superior communication and interpersonal skills, and effective leadership skills are highly desired.
- Professional history must reflect stability and progressive success.
