Management Team
Ross M. Patten
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Ross M. Patten is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Agilyx. He brings more than thirty-five years of executive experience in the solid waste, wastewater, and waste-to-energy sectors. Most recently, Mr. Patten served as President and Chief Executive Officer of MaxWest Environmental Systems, a leading renewable energy company specializing in wastewater to energy systems.
Mr. Patten is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Synagro Technologies. During his tenure with Synagro Technologies, he grew the company to become the largest publicly-traded processor of sewage sludge in the United States. Synagro was later sold to the private equity firm, The Carlyle Group, and taken private in 2007. Since 1994, Mr. Patten has also been a Partner of Bedford Capital, a merchant banking and advisory firm with expertise in the waste management and forest product industries. He has also held executive leadership positions with CDR Industries, Resource NE, Browning-Ferris Industries and Wheelabrator Technologies (a division of Waste Management).
An accomplished executive with a proven track record in business development, corporate mergers and acquisitions and operational improvement, Mr. Patten also serves on the Board of Directors for several public and private environmental companies.
Roger Rowe
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Rowe is Chief Financial Officer for Agilyx Corporation. Prior to joining Agilyx, Mr. Rowe held similar positions with both public and private companies including Merchandising Technologies, InFocus Corporation and Preview Systems. In addition, he has held various financial and operational leadership positions at other companies including North Pacific Group and Mentor Graphics. Most recently, Mr. Rowe served as Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and Investor Relations at TriQuint Semiconductor. He started his career in public accounting with KPMG LLP.
Mr. Rowe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Corporate Finance from the University of Idaho and earned his CPA certificate in Oregon in 1985.
Kevin DeWhitt
Founder & Chief Technology Officer
Mr. DeWhitt is the Chief Technology Officer of Agilyx Corporation. Prior to founding Agilyx, he worked for 20 years in the analytical chemistry industry for a number of independent laboratories. Having worked in the field of thermolytic/pyrolytic science for the past 10 years, he has been able to leverage his education and experience to invent and further develop the (now patented) Anaerobic Thermal Reclamation (ATR) process. He has been working exclusively on perfecting the ATR process for the past four years.
Mr. DeWhitt holds two Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Physics from Oregon State University, spent an additional year studying Physics at the University of Stuttgart in Germany and returned from Germany to study Chemistry in Oregon State University's graduate degree program for one year before beginning his professional career.
Jon Angin
Vice President Sales & Marketing
Mr. Angin is the Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Agilyx Corporation. Prior to joining Agilyx he was the Founder and Principal of Columbia Business Resources, a private international consulting firm providing strategic planning, business development and acquisition integration services in the transportation, waste and renewable technology sectors. His consulting engagements included extensive turnaround and organizational development work in North America, Asia and Latin America.
Mr. Angin spent more than twenty years in the solid waste industry where he held senior leadership positions with Waste Management and Norcal Waste Systems (now known as Recology). He served as Northwest Regional Vice President for Waste Management where he was responsible for more than $700 million in annual revenues. He has taken a leadership role in assisting both the public and private sectors in taking their solid waste system strategies to the “next level” by advocating sustainability and environmental stewardship through the integration of new technologies.
Before entering the waste industry, Mr. Angin worked in the financial services sector specializing in rate analysis and pricing. He holds a BS degree from Santa Clara University, an MBA from Golden Gate University and is a graduate of the University of Oregon Sustainability Leadership Program. In addition, he has participated in the Harvard Business School Executive Education Program and completed post graduate work in Public Policy, Organizational Development and Strategic Planning.
Cholan Muthukumarasamy
Vice President of Engineering
Mr. Muthukumarasamy is the Vice President of Engineering at Agilyx Corporation. Prior to joining Agilyx, he worked for 30 years in the high tech industry at leading edge companies like Tektronix, Maxtek Components Corporation, Novellus Systems, Network Elements, Celerity and Coherent in various engineering, operations, product management, sales, business development and general management positions.
He brings successful experiences in aligning cost, product and technology road-maps with tier one customers and key suppliers, re-engineering processes and implementing results driven cultures at start-up, small, medium and large, private and public companies. Mr. Muthukumarasamy has authored and implemented new product introduction processes at several companies and reduced the time to market new products. His background includes efficiently integrating acquired businesses and developing new products on-time by leveraging international supply chain.
Mr. Muthukumarasamy holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from University of Madras, a Master of Industrial and Systems Engineering from Ohio University and an MBA from University of Portland.
Mike Bennett
Director, Product Development Engineering
Mr. Bennett is the Director of Product Development Engineering for Agilyx Corporation. Prior to joining Agilyx, he was as a Senior Associate for Evergreen Engineering holding a position of Process Department Manager and Senior Chemical Engineer. In this capacity, he supported multiple projects in the chemical process and high tech industries, and was introduced to the Agilyx process. Prior to Evergreen Engineering, Mr. Bennett was the Principle Engineer and Facilities Engineering and Projects Manager for LSI Logic/ON Semiconductor. In these capacities, Mr. Bennett provided technical leadership and management for full-scale process design and major site construction projects.
Over the years, Mr. Bennett has also organized and operated his own consulting business supporting the high tech and chemical process industries in the areas of process development, equipment design, and facility design. His professional career in the field of chemistry and chemical engineering spans almost 40 years and includes authoring publications in the field of compound semiconductor EPI and wastewater treatment.
Craig Garrison
Director of Technical Operations
Mr. Garrison is the Director of Technical Operations for Agilyx Corporation. Prior to joining Agilyx, he was Sr. Vice President of US Operations for ITR Inc., an international manufacturer of specialized mobile heating systems, where he was responsible for product development and international operations. He was also instrumental in helping the company to establish their US operations, reorganize their US business, and direct the company's successful re-entry into the luxury motor coach market.
Mr. Garrison has extensive experience with small start-ups in both owner/manager and senior management roles. He has had previous experience in the plastic to oil technology field and was instrumental in the development of the process cartridge currently in use by Agilyx.
