PORTSMOUTH, N.H., Sept. 13, 2020 — Agilyx, a leader in advanced recycling of post-use plastics, announced its intention to raise new equity through listing shares on the Merkur Market, part of the Oslo Stock Exchange on September 11. The additional equity will fund commercialization of projects, strengthen the technology platform, and accelerate growth in Europe and Asia.
Over 16 years, Agilyx has developed leading industry technology to make plastic a circular resource. The company's chemical recycling technology converts mixed plastic waste into virgin-equivalent plastics, chemical products, and fuels.
"Agilyx is dedicated to addressing the plastic waste issue," said Tim Stedman, CEO. "We believe that advanced recycling and our feedstock know-how is the key to moving plastic waste recycling rates from 10% to 90%."
Unlike mechanical recycling, Agilyx's approach allows plastic waste to become feedstock for manufacturing high-quality plastics suitable for demanding applications like food contact.
The company operates a polystyrene chemical recycling facility in Oregon certified by International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC+), with continuously contracted customers. Additional projects are underway for larger-scale facilities in Illinois, the U.S., and Europe for polystyrene, PMMA (Lucite), and other plastics.
"We are excited about taking this step to become a public company, which creates an expanded platform for further growth," said Peter Norris, Chairman of the Agilyx Board and Chairman of the Virgin Group. "The Merkur Market, with its active cluster of renewable companies and strong focus on environmentally and socially responsible investing, is an ideal listing venue."
Carnegie AS serves as Manager in the Private Placement and listing, with Advokatfirmaet BAHR AS as Norwegian legal advisor.
Agilyx pioneers chemical recycling of difficult-to-recycle post-use plastic streams into circular virgin-like plastics, chemical intermediates, and fuels. The company developed Cyclyx International, Inc., a feedstock management company, and collaborates with waste service providers, municipalities, petrochemical firms, and brand and retail companies to develop closed-loop advanced recycling solutions for mixed waste plastics.
