PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 4, 2020 — Agilyx Corporation announced a partnership with Go Beyond Racing to chemically recycle single-use polystyrene from trail racing events held across the Pacific Northwest.

Go Beyond Racing, operated by Todd and Renee Janssen, produces over three dozen trail races annually. The organization implemented polystyrene food service items for plates, utensils, and cups at events, which are subsequently sent to Agilyx for chemical recycling into food-grade polystyrene products. A 500-person event now generates only one or two bags for disposal instead of multiple landfill-bound bags.

John Desmarteau, Agilyx's director of communications and government affairs, stated: "We commend forward-thinking organizations like Go Beyond Racing" for prioritizing waste reduction and circular economy initiatives.

Todd Janssen remarked that after learning about composting system changes and Agilyx's capabilities, the organization realized it could achieve greater environmental impact through chemical recycling rather than compostable alternatives.
