PORTLAND, Ore., April 15, 2020 — Agilyx Corporation, a leader in chemical recycling of post-use plastics, announced that Toyo Styrene Co., LTD (an affiliate of Denka Company Limited) has licensed its technology. The site technology license agreement permits Toyo Styrene to deploy Agilyx technology near its Chiba Prefecture facility in Japan, focusing on recycling post-use polystyrene back into styrene monomer.

Joe Vaillancourt, Agilyx CEO, stated: "This marks our formal entrance into Asian markets to deliver circular pathways for plastics."

The companies will begin engineering and development immediately. The facility will process up to 10 tons per day of post-use polystyrene. Toyo Styrene will purify the styrene monomer oil using proprietary purification technology. Manufacturing styrene through depolymerization produces a lower carbon footprint compared to virgin styrene monomer. Operations are expected to commence in early 2022.
