PORTSMOUTH, New Hampshire, USA, August 25, 2022 – Cyclyx International, a consortium-based post-use plastic innovation company with a mission to increase the recyclability of plastic from 10% to 90%, has announced a partnership with Virgin Red, the rewards club from the Virgin Group. The partnership will drive behavioural changes in plastic recycling by offering Virgin Points to incentivize participation in Cyclyx’s 10 to 90® programs, that will help address plastic pollution and the global transition towards Net Zero.
Virgin Points will, in the future, be earned through a series of 10 to 90 programs and redeemed with Virgin Red for rewards. From sailings with Virgin Voyages, awesome holiday breaks with Virgin Limited Edition, gifts and experiences with Virgin Experience Gifts, or flights with Virgin Atlantic and its partner airlines – there’s something for everyone. The partnership will first be introduced as a pilot before expanding nationwide and then more globally.
The 10 to 90® brand is a set of takeback programs, education, rewards and engagement tools, sponsored by Cyclyx, designed to incentivize small changes of behavior in order to increase the amount of waste plastics diverted from landfills and into the Cyclyx supply chain. Those waste plastics can then be recycled to a range of products by its consortium of members.
“We couldn’t be happier to be working with Virgin Red,” stated Joe Vaillancourt, CEO of Cyclyx. “If we’re going to increase the recyclability of plastic from 10% to 90%, we will need to create some real behavioural changes in the way that people recycle. By partnering with Virgin Red, we will be able to offer people exciting rewards that will help to incentivize those changes.”
Andrew Swaffield, CEO at Virgin Red, adds: “I’m delighted Virgin Red is partnering with Cyclyx to support our commitment to helping solve the plastic crisis. It gives us the opportunity to engage with our US members and make it easy for them to play their part, by incentivising them with earning Virgin Points to spend on a wide range of fantastic rewards.”

PORTSMOUTH, New Hampshire, USA, August 3, 2022 – Cyclyx International, a consortium-based post-use plastic innovation company with a mission to increase the recyclability of plastic from 10% to 90%, has announced the opening of a new plastics testing laboratory location in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, which will serve as an important asset to Cyclyx as it continues to grow and develop its recently announced high volume plastic processing facility in support of its consortium member partners.
The new lab will allow Cyclyx to test and qualify significantly greater quantities and a broader range of qualities of waste plastic. These testing protocols are necessary for gaining ISCC PLUS certification for the various sources of waste plastic but also informs how these plastics are sourced and processed for a wide range of mechanical and advanced recycling applications. The lab and growing database of waste plastics will allow Cyclyx to target plastic too distressed to be successfully recycled and include them in custom blends that will meet customers’ specifications. By qualifying and including more waste plastics in feedstock for its members, Cyclyx will be able to maximize availability and lower the cost of its waste plastic feedstock used for either mechanical or advanced recycling applications.
“The Portsmouth lab will be a vital asset to Cyclyx as we ramp up our production of waste plastic feedstock,” stated Joe Vaillancourt, CEO of Cyclyx. “The more sources of waste plastic that we can identify and qualify for use in our processes, the bigger impact we can have on the recyclability of all waste plastics, and the closer we can come to our mission to help increase that number from 10% to 90%.”

Cyclyx International, a consortium-based waste plastic innovation company, together with its members, is introducing its mission brand, 10 to 90®, and associated 10 to 90 Challenge. The 10 to 90 Challenge is a series of new takeback and engagement programs designed to divert more low-quality waste plastics away from landfill and into the Cyclyx system, where those waste plastics can be recycled with the ultimate goal to increase recycling rates of plastics from 10% to 90%.
Cyclyx, in collaboration with its members, plans to bring to market a series of innovations that enable more recycling options for low quality waste plastics that currently do not get recycled. Internationally, only 10% of all plastics produced annually are recycled with the rest ending up in landfills, the environment or incinerators. Cyclyx is working to find ways to get this waste plastic out of the trash bins and into the Cyclyx system for Cyclyx and its members to recycle those low quality plastics in an effort to raise the recycling rates of plastic from 10% to 90%.
The 10 to 90® brand will introduce a set of takeback programs, education, rewards and engagement tools, sponsored by the Cyclyx consortium companies, designed to incent small changes of behavior at home in order to increase the amount of waste plastics diverted from landfills and into the Cyclyx supply chain. Those waste plastics can then be recycled to a range of products by consortium members.
This new approach has the ability to help greatly expand the range of plastic waste that society recycles, including materials not commonly accepted by traditional recyclers due to poor quality, contamination levels or the chemical complexity of the waste.
The brand’s associated 10 to 90 Challenge is a call to action for individuals within select geographic areas to help increase their local plastic recycling rate to upwards of 90% from the average of 10%. The Challenge will be rolled out in collaboration with municipalities, retail establishments, corporations and universities in an effort to help drive scalable, community-focused solutions that accelerate plastic recycling, locally in the short term with a goal to impact global recycling rates in the long term.
“The introduction of 10 to 90® is a significant strategic pillar for Cyclyx,” stated Joe Vaillancourt, CEO of Cyclyx. “We all can do more to responsibly manage waste plastics and boost plastic circularity. 10 to 90® is an effort to significantly increase the amount of plastics diverted from landfills and into our system, where we can then find new recycling options with Cyclyx. By engaging individuals, companies, communities, and other organizations in this mission, we can truly begin to address the plastic waste challenge and increase the plastic recycling rate from 10% to 90%.”
